India, Oct. 21 -- Ascentage Pharma (AAPG) said Tuesday China's Center for Drug Evaluation granted breakthrough therapy designation to Lisaftoclax in combination with acalabrutinib for adults with previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma.
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) are closely related blood cancers in which abnormal B lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, accumulate mainly in the blood and bone marrow or lymph nodes.
The company cited a need for fixed-duration combinations that improve response depth while reducing adverse events.
