India, Aug. 21 -- Apple Inc. (AAPL) has reportedly laid off at least 60 employees working on its Vision Pro and other virtual reality projects, signalling a further slowdown in the company's mixed-reality ambitions. According to AppleInsider, the cuts affected employees within the Apple Vision Group and related VR positions.
The move follows reports that Apple has scaled back its plans for future Vision Pro products after the headset struggled to gain broad consumer interest. The company has reportedly cancelled plans for a second-generation Vision Pro and a cheaper, lighter "Vision Air" model, while development of a more affordable headset display was also suspended.
