India, Aug. 13 -- Altimmune Inc. (ALT), a late clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, on Wednesday announced financial results for the second quarter, noting a mild increase in loss owing to increased operating expenses.

The company is developing Pemvidutide, an investigational peptide that acts as a glucagon/GLP-1 dual agonist to reduce liver fat, fibrosis, and inflammation. The drug is being evaluated in trials for alcohol use disorder (AUD), alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD), and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).
