India, Aug. 20 -- The SPDR S&P Biotech ETF (XBI), a broad benchmark for the U.S. biotech sector, fell 3.64% during regular trading Thursday but edged 0.21% higher in after-hours trading. Among the notable biotech gainers in after-hours trading were Werewolf Therapeutics, which is advancing its pipeline of cancer therapies; GeoVax, which is on track to begin a pivotal trial of GEO-MVA, a vaccine candidate for mpox and smallpox; and Ovid Therapeutics, which has several upcoming clinical milestones for its investigational drugs OV4071 and OV329, among others.
