France, July 26 -- With 100 days to go until Senegal hosts the first Olympic event on African soil, preparations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games are entering their decisive phase. Venues are nearing completion, almost 24,000 people have applied to volunteer and organisers are promising hundreds of thousands of free or affordable tickets.

Ibrahima Wade, general coordinator of the 2026 Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee, tells RFI how Senegal is preparing to welcome the world's young athletes from 31 October to 13 November.
