France, Sept. 6 -- The 48-year-old takes over from Vladimir Petkovic who led the side to the last eight at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup where they lost in the last-32 to Switzerland.

Former Algeria interntional defender Antha Yahia will be his assistant while Nacer Daineche and Nasredine Berarma join them as fitness coach and goalkeeping coach respectively.

"The FAF wishes him [Hemdani] and his staff every success and assures them of its full support in carrying out their mission," said the FAF.
