Nepal, April 16 -- The CPN-UML has entered a phase of introspection following its defeat in the 2026 House of Representatives (HoR) elections, with General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel saying the party is now focused on review and restructuring.

He said the review process is underway at the ward, municipal, and district levels, and a consolidated report will be prepared by the party secretariat after receiving inputs from the provinces.

"At present, the UML has entered a review phase after the defeat it faced in the 2026 HoR elections. The review process is underway at the ward, municipal, and district levels," he said. "After receiving review reports from the provinces, the central secretariat will prepare a consolidated report."
