Nepal, April 30 -- A total of 2,489 drivers were penalized for violating traffic rules in the past 24 hours, generating Rs 2.2745 million in revenue for the state treasury.
According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 49 drivers for drunk driving, 258 for operating ride-sharing services illegally, 170 for violating traffic signals, and 112 for overspeeding.
Similarly, 325 drivers were penalized for failing to follow lane discipline, 64 for honking in restricted areas, 121 for parking vehicles on sidewalks, 62 for violating rules related to picking up and dropping off passengers at designated locations, and 1,328 others for various traffic rule violations.
