Temporary footbridge, 'tuin' installed to restore access in Rasuwa
Nepal, Sept. 14 -- Temporary bridges have been installed over the Phalakhu and Bhotekoshi rivers along the Rasuwa-Nuwakot road section after floods destroyed the concrete bridges, disrupting road connectivity.
Superintendent of Police Tul Bahadur Bhandari of the Armed Police Force said the temporary structures were installed to ease movement for local residents.
A bamboo-and-wood bridge has been built at Betrawati for pedestrians, while an iron-wire cable bridge, locally known as a 'tuin,' has been installed at Syabrubesi. Although the tuin is ready, work is underway to complete the footpaths on both sides and is expected to be finished within a few days.
