Search continues for three missing after car plunges into Sunkoshi River
Nepal, Aug. 4 -- Search efforts continued on Tuesday for three people who went missing after a car plunged into the Sunkoshi River near Nawalpur in Phikkal Rural Municipality-2 of Sindhuli along the Mid-Hill Highway.
The accident occurred on Monday morning when a passenger bus (Ba Pra 08-001 Kha 0144), travelling from Kathmandu to Sisneri in Okhaldhunga, struck a parked car, sending it about 50 meters down into the river.
According to police, those missing are construction contractor Dil Bahadur Tamang of Jugal Rural Municipality-7 in Sindhupalchok, excavator operator Ganesh Thapa of Golanjor Rural Municipality-1, and excavator assistant Sujan Magar of Tinpatan Rural Municipality-9.
