Search, rescue operations intensified at Upper Trishuli-1, Chilime, Rasuwagadhi hydropower projects
Nepal, Sept. 4 -- Search and rescue operations have been intensified for people believed to be trapped inside tunnels of several hydropower projects in Rasuwa following the Bhotekoshi floods.
Assistant Chief District Officer Dhruba Prasad Adhikari told RSS that rescue operations are underway at the Upper Trishuli-1, Chilime and Rasuwagadhi hydropower projects, with the involvement of the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police, as well as expert teams from China, India and South Korea.
So far, the bodies of 140 flood victims have been recovered, of which 134 were sent to Nuwakot for management.
A total of 2,564 people remain missing in Rasuwa following the disaster, according to the District Emergency Operation Center.
