RSP MP questions govt "silence'' as Dalit activist completes 150 days of protest
Nepal, Sept. 15 -- Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Parbati BK has questioned the government's "silence'' over the demands of Dipa Nepali, who has been protesting at Maitighar Mandala against caste-based discrimination for 150 days.
Speaking at Tuesday's meeting of the House of Representatives, BK said it was unfortunate that the government had failed to address Nepali's demands despite her prolonged protest.
She also urged the government to act on a recent allegation of caste-based discrimination involving "Mama Bhanja," a private room-finding company, warning that institutional discrimination could push society in the wrong direction.
