Nepal, May 20 -- Prakash Chandra Pariyar, chief whip of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has stressed the need for equitable development, social justice, and inclusive governance in Nepal.

Addressing a meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Pariyar said the country needs "not only development, but equitable development," emphasizing that prosperity must reach marginalized communities, including Dalits, women, Muslims, Karnali residents, and the landless poor.

He said hundreds of thousands of Nepalis are still living below the poverty line and highlighted the continued presence of caste-based discrimination as well as limited opportunities for marginalized groups.
