Nepal, Oct. 13 -- The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has launched an internal investigation into serious allegations against lawmaker Khagendra Sunar and directed him not to attend any formal event in his public capacity until the inquiry concludes.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the party said it had instructed its Central Disciplinary Commission to begin an immediate investigation to establish the facts.

"To prevent interference with the investigation and uphold the ethical standards of public office, he is directed not to participate in any formal event in his public capacity until the inquiry reaches a conclusion," the statement said.
