Nepal, June 11 -- Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Gyanendra Shahi has accused the concerned minister of misleading a parliamentary committee during discussions on customs duty evasion.

Speaking in Thursday's House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, Shahi demanded the formation of a parliamentary probe committee to investigate alleged irregularities in tariff revisions and customs revenue leakage.

He clarified that his demand for an investigation was not intended to obstruct government work, but to bring out the facts behind the controversy.

Shahi said repeated commitments to good governance have not translated into effective implementation, raising concerns over accountability in revenue administration.
