Nepal, May 12 -- Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Bhumika Shrestha has said that delays in enacting laws have continued to affect the gender and sexual minority community.
Speaking during Tuesday's meeting of the House of Representatives, she said the community has remained marginalised for decades and expressed concern that even 10 years after the promulgation of the Constitution, the rights guaranteed by it have not been fully implemented.
Shrestha said various constitutional provisions remain limited to paper only, urging the government to take the issue seriously and ensure their implementation.
