Rescue operation launched at Trishuli-3 'A' Hydropower Project
Nepal, Aug. 29 -- A joint security team has launched a search and rescue operation for people trapped inside a tunnel of the Trishuli-3 'A' Hydropower Project in Rasuwa.
The operation began early Saturday, with teams clearing mud and debris from the tunnel entrance. A joint team of 82 personnel-62 from the Nepali Army and 20 from the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police-has been deployed to speed up the search and rescue efforts.
Continuous rainfall, mud and debris have made it difficult for rescuers to reach the tunnel entrance and carry out the search.
