Nepal, Aug. 11 -- Records of 179 government agencies were destroyed during the Gen Z protests on September 8 and 9 last year, according to the Office of the Auditor General.Speaking at a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Auditor General Toyam Raya said audits of the agencies whose records were destroyed could not be conducted.

Deputy Auditor General Deepak Lamichhane said the records could be reconstructed using general vouchers that remain safe. He added that internal audit reports submitted by the agencies could also help establish the details.
