Nepal, Oct. 23 -- Police have arrested a prisoner who escaped from the Central Jail in Jagannathdewal during the Gen Z protests on September 9, 2025.

The arrested prisoner has been identified as 43-year-old Chandra Damai KC, originally from Melamchi Municipality-6 in Sindhupalchok district and currently residing in Dharmasthali, Tarkeshwar Municipality-6, Kathmandu.

According to the District Police Range Kathmandu, KC had been serving a prison sentence in a human trafficking and transportation case when he escaped during the Gen Z protests on September 9, 2025.
