Power export to India increased to 1,650 MW
Nepal, July 16 -- The meetings of the Nepal-India Joint Steering Committee (JSC) and the Joint Working Group (JWG) on Power Sector Cooperation concluded in Pokhara on Wednesday, with both sides agreeing to increase Nepal's power exports to India to 1,650 MW.
The 13th meeting of the Joint Steering Committee on Power Sector Cooperation was co-chaired by Nepal's Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Sarita Dawadi, and India's Power Secretary, Pankaj Agarwal.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the two sides agreed under the Combined Power Transfer arrangement to increase electricity exports from Nepal to India to 1,650 MW from the existing 1,100 MW. Likewise, electricity impo...
