Oppn lawmakers demand PM's border-related statement be removed from records
Nepal, Aug. 11 -- Lawmakers have demanded that the Prime Minister's statements on border issues be corrected, with the earlier recorded statements removed from the parliament's archives.
As today's session of the lower house commenced, lawmakers from opposition parties stood from their respective seats in protest, calling for the deletion of the PM's "controversial" statements on border matters.
The Speaker allowed them time to put forward their views on the basis of party representation.
The lawmakers argued that the Prime Minister's statement made before Parliament on May 31 has yet to be clarified and, therefore, should be corrected.
They also demanded that the May 31 statements be withdrawn from the parliamentary records.
