Nepal to fill ambassador posts in 13 countries through open competition
Nepal, May 29 -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has, for the first time, opened ambassadorial appointments to open competition, marking a major shift in Nepal's diplomatic selection process.
The MoFA has issued a seven-page "Terms of Reference: Ambassador of Nepal," inviting applications from qualified Nepali citizens for 13 vacant postings, including key countries such as India, China, and the United States.
The government said the move aims to make diplomatic appointments more transparent, merit-based, and competitive. Interested candidates can apply until June 5.
