Nepal, March 10 -- A total of 71 youths under the age of 40 years have been elected in the recently held House of Representatives (HoR) elections.
According to the Election Commission, the youths under 40 make up 43.03 percent of the directly elected candidates who will be representing as lawmakers in the upcoming parliament. Out of them, four are from Gen Z age groups.
In the previous election of 2022, only 10 youths under the given age groups were elected for HoR. The figure this time has increased seven-folds.
Out of the total number of elected youths, 62 are from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) alone. The RSP has won 125 seats for HoR.
