Nepal, Oct. 5 -- Youth political analyst and Nepali Congress (NC) leader Shankar Tiwari has announced his candidacy for the post of general secretary at the party's 15th General Convention.

Tiwari made the announcement at a press conference on Sunday, saying he was contesting on an ideological platform aimed at defending the party's core principles and strengthening democracy. "The Nepali Congress is an idea. I am contesting to defend the party's ideology. Democracy cannot survive without questioning. I have decided to contest with a clear ideological perspective," he said.
