NC Prez Thapa raises asset disclosure, mocks investigation process of Sudan Gurung
Nepal, June 9 -- Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Thapa has taken a sharp swipe at the government over the ongoing investigation involving former Home Minister Sudan Gurung, questioning the intent and handling of the probe.
Speaking during an event in Gorkha, Thapa said that political leaders currently in power must also be ready to clearly explain the source of their wealth and assets when questioned by citizens.
He said that public officials-including the Prime Minister and ministers-are expected to disclose their financial background when taking office, and must be able to justify the legality of their assets when questioned.
