Nepal, June 9 -- Members in the National Assembly (NA) have alleged that tax rates were altered in the budget speech for the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27, demanding an investigation into the matter. Taking time in a session of the upper house on Tuesday, they called for the formation of a committee to probe the allegations.

Lawmaker Tul Prasad Bishwakarama said media reports have claimed that 16 pages were removed from the Finance Bill within 24 hours of its presentation in parliament and that a revised version was subsequently issued. He demanded a thorough investigation into the matter with its clarification.
