Lawmakers demand PM Balen's resignation over border remarks, disrupt National Assembly session
Nepal, June 1 -- Lawmakers in the National Assembly on Monday demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Balendra Shah over his recent statement that Nepal had also encroached on Indian territory.
During the National Assembly meeting, several lawmakers criticized the prime minister's remarks, saying they had undermined national dignity and hurt the sentiments of Nepalis.
The lawmakers called for Shah's resignation and staged protests inside the House.
Following the uproar and slogan-shouting by members, the National Assembly session was adjourned for 20 minutes.
