Nepal, Nov. 3 -- Kathmandu Metropolitan City has designated several locations for the sale and distribution of flowers and garlands during the Tihar festival.

The metropolis has urged businesses, traders and the general public not to sell or use plastic flowers, garlands and decorative items within its jurisdiction during the festival. It has also called on traders to prioritise locally produced flowers and garlands.

According to a notice issued by the metropolis, plastic or substandard flowers, garlands and decorative materials found on sale will be confiscated.
