Nepal, June 10 -- The newly formed Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation has started institutional and policy-level work after receiving leadership.

The ministry was created after separating science and technology from the former Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and adding innovation as a new portfolio under the latest government restructuring.

Independent MP Mahabir Pun assumed office as the minister of the newly established ministry on Tuesday.Secretary Pramila Bajracharya of the Engineering Service had taken charge of the ministry a few days earlier. She said the ministry has begun operations from the former Youth and Sports Ministry office at Singha Durbar.
