Nepal, March 12 -- The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) will now lead the investigation into the shocking rape and murder of 16-year-old Inisha BK in Surkhet District.

The District Police Office (DPO) Surkhet requested CIB assistance after completing its preliminary investigation, citing the severity of the crime. A CIB team is preparing to reach Birendranagar to collect additional evidence and continue the probe.

According to the postmortem report, Inisha died from excessive bleeding following sexual assault. Electronic devices, including mobile phones linked to the case, have been sent for forensic examination.
