Indian Army chief Dhiraj Seth conferred honorary General rank of Nepali Army
Nepal, Aug. 17 -- President Ram Chandra Paudel on Monday conferred the honorary rank of general of the Nepali Army on General Dhiraj Seth, chief of the army staff of the Indian Army, during a ceremony at Sheetal Niwas.
Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal, Chief Secretary Govinda Bahadur Karki, Nepali Army Chief General Ashok Raj Sigdel, former army chiefs, government secretaries, Indian Ambassador to Nepal and defence attaches from friendly countriejs attended the ceremony.
Nepal and India have a longstanding tradition of conferring the honorary rank of general on each other's army chiefs, reflecting the close ties between the two armies.
