Nepal, Sept. 11 -- Chief Whip of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), Yuvraj Dulal, has urged the government to immediately restore and fully operationalize the electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system, saying its shutdown has disrupted public procurement and contracting processes across all three tiers of government.

Speaking during Friday's meeting of the House of Representatives, Dulal said the e-GP system, introduced in 2013 to make public procurement more efficient and transparent, has remained non-operational, affecting procurement activities at the federal, provincial and local levels.
