Nepal, Aug. 17 -- Home Minister Sudan Gurung's remark telling local residents in Gorkha to "take back their votes" has gone viral on social media.

Gurung made the remark on Sunday evening while listening to complaints and concerns from voters in Namjung of Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-9.

Before the election, Gurung had promised to establish a laboratory in the ward. During the interaction, locals complained that the promised programme had not been included in the budget and questioned him about the allocation.

Responding to their concerns, Gurung said the government had only recently introduced its first budget and that it had sought lists of local priorities to determine which programmes should be included.
