Govt suspends permanent civil service recruitment pending staff restructuring
Nepal, July 20 -- The government has suspended the recruitment of new permanent civil servants until employees rendered surplus following a new Organization and Management (O&M) survey are reassigned.
The decision was made during a meeting of government secretaries, which agreed to prioritize the management of excess staff resulting from the O&M review before filling new permanent positions.
Under the decision, no ministry, department or government agency will be allowed to send requests to the Public Service Commission for new permanent recruitment without prior approval from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
