Govt selling five-year development bond of Rs 10 billion
Nepal, Sept. 8 -- The government is selling five-year development bonds worth Rs 10 billion for the purpose of raising internal debt.
According to the Public Debt Management Office, it will be issuing Development Bond 2026 and will be inviting banks and financial institutions, non-banking institutions, insurance companies, private sector organizations and Nepali citizens, among others to participate in the bidding. The interest rate will be determined through a bidding process.
According to the PDMO, the bond issuance will take place on Thursday, while the submission deadline for bidding has been set for the previous day. This bond can be used as collateral to obtain a loan, and the interest on the bond will be paid semi-annually.
