Nepal, June 23 -- The government has partially reopened the registration of public vehicles, reversing its earlier decision to halt the process indefinitely.

The Department of Transport Management (DoTM), under the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, announced that vehicles imported after opening letters of credit (LCs) will now be eligible for registration. Director Maniram Bhusal confirmed that a circular was issued on Monday to all seven provinces and local governments.

According to the circular, importers who had opened LCs by the third week of May and initiated the registration process by submitting the required documents will be permitted to register their vehicles.
