Nepal, Aug. 9 -- Gas dealers have urged consumers not to stockpile cylinders unnecessarily, assuring that a shortage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is unlikely in the coming days.

The Nepal LP Gas Industry Association (NLPGA) stated that imports from India have been rising steadily, while companies continue refilling and supplying cylinders to the market. It appealed to consumers to purchase only what they need.

"If consumers refrain from buying extra cylinders, the shortage currently being felt will be resolved immediately. There is unlikely to be any disruption in supplies in the coming days," association President Diwan Bahadur Chand said in a statement issued on Sunday.
