Nepal, July 29 -- Tensions in Dewanganj flared again on Tuesday night as members of two religious communities clashed in Dewanganj Rural Municipality-2, leaving two people seriously injured.

The latest confrontation occurred while efforts were underway to restore calm following Sunday's violent clash in Dewanganj-3, Kaptanganj, raising concerns over the possibility of further escalation in the area.

The injured have been identified as 48-year-old Rijman Ansari and 47-year-old Alam Ansari.

Rijman sustained a broken leg and a head injury, while Alam suffered a head wound and injuries to several parts of his body, said Muslim community leader Raful Ansari.
