Nepal, Sept. 29 -- Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal met Sri Lankan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Wijitha Herath, today.

Foreign Minister Khanal, who is currently in New York in the course of his participation in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, held a bilateral meeting with his Sri Lankan counterpart on a sideline, according to Minister Khanal's secretariat.

The two ministers discussed measures to bolster Nepal-Sri Lanka bilateral relations. During the meeting, Minister Khanal expressed gratitude to the government and people of Sri Lanka for their sympathy and solidarity with the communities affected by the recent disasters in Nepal and for providing economic and humanitarian assistance.
