Nepal, April 23 -- Goods worth Rs 79.54 billion have been exported to foreign countries through the Birgunj customs checkpoint in the first nine months of the current Fiscal Year (FY).
According to the Birgunj Customs Office, exports increased by Rs 10.19 billion - a 15 percent rise - compared to the same period last FY. During the corresponding period last year, exports through the checkpoint totaled Rs 69.35 billion.
Information Officer Uday Singh Bista said exports through the checkpoint have grown by 15 percent in the current FY. Refined soybean oil accounted for the largest share, with exports worth Rs 43.61 billion over the nine-month period, up from Rs 36.62 billion in the same period last year.
