Nepal, Oct. 6 -- The government has barred movement of large cargo vehicles on the Narayanghat-Kathmandu road section for two weeks during Dashain starting Sunday.

Following a stakeholders' meeting on Tuesday, the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) decided to prohibit large cargo vehicles, including trailers, from plying through the main highway connecting the Kathmandu Valley with other parts of the country. According to the DoTM, the decision was taken citing the possible risk as a large number of passenger vehicles ply along the route during the main festival of Hindus.
