Nepal, Aug. 13 -- Former Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba returned to Nepal on Thursday after six months abroad for medical treatment, receiving a grand welcome from leaders and cadres of the party's rival faction.

Deuba landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at around 12:30 PM, where NC leaders and cadres greeted him with traditional music, cultural performances and a procession.

The rival faction opposed to the party establishment had mobilized cadres at open spaces near the Golden Gate, Namaste Gate and in front of Tilganga Eye Hospital ahead of his arrival.
