Nepal, Oct. 8 -- The CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting is underway at the party's central office in Chyasal, with former President Bidya Bhandari attending the meeting as a senior leader.

She is attending a party meeting for the first time since returning to active politics after serving as president for two terms.

The meeting was called after the UML Central Committee nominated seven additional members, including office-bearers, to the Standing Committee.

The meeting is discussing current political issues and the party's upcoming activities.
