Nepal, Aug. 26 -- The newly appointed Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Kiran Thapa Magar, got the vote of confidence from the provincial assembly.

In the vote held on Tuesday, Thapa Magar got 57 votes with the backing from ruling partners CPN (UML), Nepali Communist Party and seven province assembly members of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).Thapa Magar obtained the vote of confidence as per Article 168 (4) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Secretary at the Province Assembly Secretariat, Ram Kumar Paudel, said that the province assembly members of the Nepali Congress, Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party and Hamro Nepali Party remained absent at the meeting.
