Nepal, Oct. 8 -- Australia has announced an additional AUD 15 million in assistance for relief and early recovery efforts following the recent devastating floods in Nepal.

Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal said the assistance was announced during his bilateral meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Senator Penny Wong in Melbourne. Khanal thanked Australia for its support, including A$11 million provided earlier.

According to Khanal, the two ministers discussed Nepal-Australia relations, climate action, education, student welfare and economic cooperation.

Khanal urged Australia to advocate for the impact of the climate crisis on Nepal's fragile Himalayan ecosystem at global forums, particularly as it leads efforts toward COP31. He also ...
