Nepal, March 15 -- A total of 6,799 disaster incidents occurred across the country from mid-April to mid-March (Baisakha to Falgun 2082 BS) of the current fiscal year.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, disasters during the 11-month period claimed 464 lives. Another 38 people remain missing, while 1,814 people sustained injuries.
Various disasters affected 12,458 households during the period, according to the authority's data.
Fire incidents accounted for the largest share. A total of 3,339 fire incidents were recorded, resulting in 98 deaths.
