Nepal, March 13 -- The Nepali Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, has repatriated 21 Nepali nationals rescued from scam centers in Cambodia, according to the embassy.
The embassy said the individuals were sent back to Nepal on Friday with the support of the Cambodian government and facilitation from the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Cambodia.
In a statement issued on Friday, the embassy said efforts are ongoing to repatriate other Nepalis who are stranded or facing difficult circumstances in Cambodia.
Those rescued had reportedly traveled to Cambodia after being lured by various individuals through different channels. Once there, they were forced to work in illegally operated online scam centers, casinos, and other illicit activiti...
