Nepal, March 22 -- The Chitwan National Park has arrested 128 people on various charges since the beginning of the current fiscal year.
According to the Park's Information Officer, Abinash Thapa Magar, the largest number of those arrested are those involved in illegal fishing in the Rapti River. The park arrested and took action against 70 people for fishing illegally.
Similarly, three people were arrested for attempted poaching of rhinoceros, five for pangolin, 11 for picking fiddlehead fern, 30 for illegally collecting green fodder, one for killing birds, four for entering the national park without permission and four for other involvement in prohibited acts.
