Nepal, Feb. 27 -- Of the 3,406 direct candidates registered for the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5, only 1,670 have opened bank accounts, according to the Election Commission (EC).
Similarly, out of the 65 political parties participating in the elections, only 11 have opened accounts. EC Assistant Spokesperson Sangita Pun Shris said that parties that have opened accounts so far include Nepali Congress, Rastriya Janamorcha, CPN United, Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Nepali Party for Nepal, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), United Citizens Party, Miteri Party, Nepal Janata Sanrakshan Party, Nepal Workers Peasants Party, and Rastriya Janmukti Party.
