Nigeria, July 16 -- Defending champions Argentina struck twice in the closing minutes to beat England 2-1 on Wednesday and book their place in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Lionel Scaloni's side looked to be heading for defeat after Anthony Gordon gave England the lead early in the second half, but late goals from Enzo Fernandez and substitute Lautaro Martinez completed a dramatic comeback and kept Argentina's title defence alive.

Argentina will now face Spain in Sunday's final in what promises to be a blockbuster clash between the South American champions and the reigning European champions.
